About Me
I grew up with a wonderful family and in a neighborhood that was unlike any other or many others depending on the others ;o). My brother and sisters and I remained close throughout our lives and now that we are older we still keep in touch. I started my LE career in 1977 at Illinois Central College with the Public Safety Department. I worked there about 9 months then became employed at Bradley University Campus Police which were great places to work, challenging, and educational. After about 3 1/2 years and working a Sergeant overseeing Training and a shift I was hired by the Peoria Police Department in 1982. Also, In the fall of 1982 my wife and I were married and have four children over the years We all started in Vice and Drugs for a while putting in many long days and nights then worked in patrol. After about 2 years in patrol I moved into the Special Operations Division - Traffic Unit and investigated many fatal and serious injury accidents/crashes and got a lot of time exposure in crime scene photography and traffic enforcement. While there I worked as a Field Training officer for about 4 years. After about 12 year in Traffic I rotated out to the Administrative Aide officer for about 71/2 years. There we worked in the area of grants, statistics, and implemented the laptop wireless reporting and communication systems, in car video systems, website development, and a host of other projects. That was a very rewarding and educational period. After that, I went back to patrol for about 6 mo then traffic for about a year. I was promoted to Sgt and worked patrol, street crimes, and now in the Tech Services Division working as a Desk Sergeant. ....life continues... HOW TO STAY YOUNG

    1. Throw out nonessential numbers. This includes age, weight and height. Let the doctors worry about them. That is why you pay 'them'

    2. Keep only cheerful friends. The grouches pull you down.

    3. Keep learning. Learn more about the computer, crafts, gardening, whatever. Never let the brain idle. 'An idle mind is the devil's workshop.'

    4. Enjoy the simple things.

    5. Laugh often, long and loud. Laugh until you gasp for breath.

    6. The tears happen. Endure, grieve, and move on. The only person, who is with us our entire life, is ourselves. Be ALIVE while you are alive.

    7. Surround yourself with what you love, whether it's family, pets, keepsakes, music, plants, and hobbies, whatever. Your home is your refuge.

    8. Cherish your health: If it is good, preserve it. If it is unstable, improve it. If it is beyond what you can improve, get help.

    9. Don't take guilt trips. Take a trip to the mall, even to the next county; to a foreign country but NOT to where the guilt is.

    10. Tell the people you love that you love them, at every opportunity.

    11. Don't waste time finding fault with others - they can usually
Find fault with themselves just fine. Try something challenging-
LOOK FOR THE GOOD IN EVERYONE!

    AND ALWAYS REMEMBER:
Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.

And if you don't send this to at least 8 people - who cares?
But do share this with someone.
We all need to live life to its fullest each day!!

Worry about nothing, pray about everything!!!

We complain about the cross we bear but don't realize
it is preparing us for the dip in the road that God can see and we can't.

Whatever your cross, whatever your pain,
there will always be sunshine, after the rain....

    Perhaps you may stumble, perhaps even fall;
But God's always ready, to answer your call.....

He knows every heartache, sees every tear,
a word from His lips, can calm every fear...

Your sorrows may linger, throughout the night,
But suddenly vanish, dawn's early light....

The Savior is waiting, somewhere above,
to give you His grace, and send you His love...

God promises a safe landing, not a calm passage.
