Jessica: Contact the local law department where you live and find out what kind of training you would need....is it college based or police academy...get your "certification" as a law enforcement officer by following their instructions. Some areas in the US employ you through the academy and others make you go through a college course that you pay for or if lucky a department will sponsor the training. Make sure you prepare for the physical agility testing, when ready, start running, a quarter mile will turn into a half mile which will turn into a mile, you probably need to be able to run a mile and 1/2 in around 14-16 minutes...push ups and sit ups as well. Make sure your driving record is completely clean...no unanswered summonses...the local departments may offer ride alongs where you go in a patrol car and watch the officer/deputy work his/her shift...try to wear a vest during this....you never know....let me know how that works...michael
