  Hey Andrew Congrats on your internship!!!! School started here on Monday, it seems like it gets earlier and earlier every year. But then again if there is a dusting of snow they cancel school. I looked at the school calendar these kids have an average of 4 days off per month. Get this, they get a day off for Fair Day. Top that LOL

  The Creation of Peace Officers"
  --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

  When the Lord was creating peace officers, he was into his sixth day of
  overtime when an angel appeared and said,
  "You're doing a lot of fiddling around on this one."
  And the Lord said, "Have you read the spec on this order? A peace officer has
  to be able to run five miles through alleys in the dark, scale walls, enter
  homes the health inspector wouldn't touch, and not wrinkle his uniform.

  "He has to be able to sit in an undercover car all day on a stakeout, cover a
  homicide scene that night, canvass the neighborhood for witnesses,
  and testify in court the next day.

  "He has to be in top physical condition at all times, running on black coffee
  and half-eaten meals. And he has to have six pairs of hands."

  The angel shook her head slowly and said, "Six pairs of hands... no way."

  "It's not the hands that are causing me problems," said the Lord, "it's the
  three pairs of eyes an officer has to have."

  "That's on the standard model?" asked the angel.

  The Lord nodded. One pair that sees through a bulge in a pocket before he asks,
  "May I see what's in there, sir?" (When he already knows and wishes he'd taken
  that accounting job.) "Another pair here in the side of his head for his
  partners' safety. And another pair of eyes here in front that can look
  reassuringly at a bleeding victim and say, 'You'll be all right ma'am, when he knows it isn't so."

  "Lord," said the angel, touching his sleeve, "rest and work on this tomorrow."

  "I can't," said the Lord, "I already have a model that can talk a 250 pound
  drunk into a patrol car without incident and feed a family of five on a civil service paycheck."

  The angel circled the model of the peace officer very slowly, "Can it think?" she asked.

  "You bet," said the Lord. "It can tell you the elements of a hundred crimes;
  recite Miranda warnings in its sleep; detain, investigate, search, and arrest
  a gang member on the street in less time than it takes five learned judges to
  debate the legality of the stop... and still it keeps its sense of humor.

  This officer also has phenomenal personal control. He can deal with crime
  scenes painted in hell, coax a confession from a child abuser, comfort a murder
  victim's family, and then read in the daily paper how law enforcement isn't
  sensitive to the rights of criminal suspects."

  Finally, the angel bent over and ran her finger across the cheek of the peace
  officer. "There's a leak," she pronounced. "I told you that you were trying to
  put too much into this model."

  "That's not a leak," said the lord, "it's a tear."

  "What's the tear for?" asked the angel.

  "It's for bottled-up emotions, for fallen comrades, for commitment to that
  funny piece of cloth called the American flag, for justice."

  "You're a genius," said the angel.

  The Lord looked somber. "I didn't put it there," he said.

  Hi Andrew- WINTER BAD-WARM TEMPS GOOD LOL
  I know all about the "little angels" I am going to start tripping the ones at Wal Mart who refuse to move, or the ones who run around and their parents ignore them. My kids finally realize why I was so hard on them while they were growing up. Just remember it's harder to say NO and stick to it, saying Yes to kids all of the time will not teach them anything but entitlement.

  Needless to say it has been an interesting week here at the Foxcroft sub-division. Last night we had 6 vehicles broken into. One of my Board members saw the little angels and gave chase. I told him it was the dumbest thing he could have done. He told me that he had 3 blackbelts in karate, I told him those kids were at least 20 years his junior. He lost them in the chase due to his bare feet. Well the Sheriff's Office was called and six deputies arrived. The outcome is no one was able to find the little angels, but I am sure it will happen again. Life is so exciting when you are the President of the HOA Board of Directors.

  Sorry to hear about your flood situation up there, we had rain today but it did nothing to bring the temperature down but my garden looks a bit happier. Stay dry, safe, and above the water line.

  Hi Friends and Happy Wednesday!!!

  I am not going to complain about the weather today, just copied and pasted the weather forecast for today. I don't see any rain in the near future and have no idea when it is going to rain and I don't think the metorologist do either. The grass in my backyard looks like straw and has been mowed once this summer.
  Feel blessed those of you who have had some rain, unless you have experienced flooding then you have my sympathy.

  Hi, Once again the temperature in Frederick, Maryland is in the triple digits, air quality sucks, and I believe that it has to be cooler someplace else. I really wish I had a swimming pool to hang out in.

  Y’all try to stay cool, unless you live in Alaska I heard this morning the temperature there was around 48 degrees.

  Hi Friends:

  Sorry I haven’t been around all week to return your comments. I was preparing for our Second Annual National Night Out, which I can finally say was a success this year!!!!
  The heat index at 1900 was 104, we really worked up a sweat, and the kids loved the piñata and all of the “free” educational stuff we gave away. We had really great door prizes; a pair of Baltimore Orioles tickets, food prizes, circus tickets. Local businesses were very generous with their donations.
