AN EASTSIDE CHRISTMAS
TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS, AND ALL THROUGH EAST SIDE, NOT A DIRTBAG WAS STIRRING, I'D LOOKED FAR AND WIDE.
THE COPS WERE NESTLED ALL SNUG IN THEIR CARS, EVEN VALLEYBROOK WAS QUIET, THEY'D EMPTIED THE BARS.
I STOPPED AT THE KWIK STOP TO EMPTY MY BLADDER, WHEN OVER MY HANDHELD THERE CAME SUCH A CHATTER.
A PURSUIT IN SPENCER HEADED THIS WAY QUICK, SO I RAN FROM THE STORE TO START MY CROWN VIC.
TOWARD 23RD STREET I FLEW LIKE A FLASH, THE SUSPECT, WE HEARD, WAS DISTRIBUTING HASH.
NOW HARRAH NOW CHOCTAW, THEY JOINED THE PURSUIT, NOW A DEPUTY SHERIFF. (THOSE CHARGERS CAN SCOOT!)
NICOMA PARK PLACED ALL THEIR SPIKE STRIPS WITH CARE, I BLOCKED HIWASSEE TO FUNNEL HIM THERE.
THEN OUT THE WINDOW THE EVIDENCE SAILED, THE VEHICLE STOPPED AND THE SUSPECT BAILED.
DISPATCH ADVISED "THE DOG'S ON THE GROUND", WE HELD THE PERIMETER TILL HE WAS FOUND.
AND WHEN HE RESISTED THERE CAME SUCH A YELL, THE CUTS ON HIS FACE ARE THERE CAUSE "HE FELL."
HE STOOD NOT A CHANCE, WE HAD HIM SURROUNDED, THE DRUGS WERE ALL FOUND AND HIS CAR WAS IMPOUNDED.
OFF TO THE ER THEY TOOK HIM FOR STICHES, AND THEN ON TO COUNTY FOR BALOGNA SANDWICHES.
WELL DONE EASTSIDE BRETHREN, YOU STAYED IN THE FIGHT, MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL, AND TO ALL A GOOD NIGHT.
