I thank you for the invite. I wish you well in your decision. It is not always easy and you're not always appreciated. If you decide to go, there are 2 rules to the job.
1) At the end of shift you and everyone with you go home unscathed.

I don't know of any sites. My suggestion would be to talk to women in your area that are in law enforcement however you need to be careful because some are really negative and you don't want someone to discourage you however it is different for women than it is for men and you do need someone that is realistic. We have ride along programs here so if they have something like that in your area you might try that. Larger deparments are usually more female friendly than smaller departments. Most will tell you they are for women in law enforcement but unless you actually talk to women in that department you are not going to know for sure. If you get with the right department it is a great job however if you get with a bad department it can be really frustrating.

If you are really considering a career in law enforcement talk to other women in the field. It is a great job but has lots of pros and cons. I have been an officer for almost 8 years and I love it but I didn't have a clue about what I was getting into when I first started. So do your homework on the job and the department before you hire on.

Patrick Daniel Tillman (November 6, 1976 – April 22, 2004) was an Arizona Cardinal #40 player who left his professional sports career and enlisted in the United States Army in May 2002. He joined the United States Army Rangers and served multiple tours in combat before he was killed by “friendly fire" in the mountains of Afghanistan. Details about the circumstances surrounding his death have been the subject of controversy and military investigations.
