So far I've passed the Written and the Polygraph, just waiting on the address and time for when I take my Psych exam. After that I get an Oral Interview, a physical, an eye exam, and then a background investigation.

Yeah I'm 18. A local PD has a police trainee position called police cadet, it's a paid position with benefits. Basically I go through the entire police testing process, and if I get hired I work 20 hours during the school year, 40 during the summer and holidays, and I'm in training to be an officer. They put me with different divisions like narcotics, patrol, 911, administration, every few weeks so I learn how it works, and I just assist. Once I hit 20 I am auto hired as an officer there.

Cool cool, thanks. Yeah I applied for it last week and the written is Feb 7th. There is only two things that could potentially bar me. The first one is my school. They say that once I am a cadet I have to enroll at Waubonsie Community college and get my associates, because they pay for two years tuition. Well I already have a full ride to a 4 year college where I'm getting my BS in Criminal Justice with a concentration in law enforcement.
The second is the hours. My school is an hour and a half away, and as I'm sure you know, we have to work 20 hours during the school year. So to effectively keep my homework done and all I have to be able to either work one hour a day m-thursday and a 8 hour shift on friday and saturday, or a 10 hour shift on friday and saturday. If I can do one of those two, and pass all the tests, I'm good to go.

Oh really? I never knew that. I thought this PD was the only one that did it. I'm 18, 19 in May. Yeah this is the next best thing, to the real thing.

Yeah I'm actually applying for a job called police cadet. Unlike the normal explorers or cadet program, it's a paid position (non-sworn) and they assign you to each and every division to work in, response, patrol, k9, narcotics, gang, 911, administration, records, and tons more. I get dental health and life insurance, and tons more.
