  Valentine’s Day is February 14, 2013. Have you thought about how you will make that day special, what special card or gift you will give, or what act of kindness you will deliver?

  The best Valentine ever given was given to us in the shape of a cross and the color red was involved because of Jesus’ precious blood. 1 John 3:16 “This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. The wonderful thing about this valentine is that it was given to all people of all nations. Sometimes, humanly we choose to give our valentine greetings to only special people who show us love.

  How can we show Jesus our love in return? John 14:23 Jesus replied, “If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching.” One of His teachings is found in 1 John 4:7-8 “Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.”

  During your quiet times with the Lord in the next few weeks, perhaps you will find it helpful to look up and meditate on the scriptures that contain the word Love. God has given us lots of Love notes in His Word. Write down several that are meaningful to you and then put them into practice. Ask the Lord who needs a Valentine from you this year?

  Did you know that John 3:16 contains all the letters needed to spell VALENTINE?

  Thank you for giving to each of us our best Valentine ever, your life. Help us to love you with all our hearts, souls, minds and strength, and our neighbors as ourselves.

  Thomas Peoples in Texas sent the following in reference to our Newtown (CT) brethren in the wake of the Sandy Hook shooting:
  
  In response to a letter I received in the mail, I am writing to you and asking you to pass it along to all officers or this great brotherhood.

  Kim, who is a prior dispatchers wrote to me about the Sandy Hook incident and how on the news they were speaking of the difficulties that the officers were having and how many of them may never return to work due to the trauma which they were involved in. I know from listening that they have received countless letters form citizens showing their support, but in times like these we need to show them that their family behind the badge also supports them. We will never know how they truly feel but we can show our love and support and let them know that we are there for them. Offer to them words of encouragement and offer that friendly ear for them to call if for nothing more then to vent for a few minutes and someone to cry to.
  
  I am going to spread to word to my network and ask that you do the same and pass it along to any officers you might know who are willing to assist.

  A sad day today, Sergeant Kim Pinto of the Stockton Unified police force was killed in a car crash on southbound Highway 99 in Lodi early this morning.

  I had the privilege of working with her as a community Pastor as well as a Stockton Police School Resource Chaplain. My prayers go out to her family, friends, Brother and Sister Leo's, and the students whose lives she impacted.
  I pray you will find peace, comfort, strength, and hope only God can provide you.

  Friday February 25, 2011 one of the great men who served and protected our fine city of Stockton, California died. Jason answered the call and gave his all. My prayers go out to his family and his brother and sister LEO's. I pray they will all find the peace, comfort, and strength only god can provide.
