Thanks, Cat. Our Easter (Orthodox) is April 15 this year. April 8 was our Palm Sunday . We have a very strict, but very healthy, fast (this year, it began 2/27) and ends 12:01am Easter Sunday. It's all based on the Luunar calendar and it's always the 1st Sunday after the 1st full moon of Spring, but never before the end of the Jewish Passover, since that was Jesus's Last Supper with His disciples. . Everyone is dressed in all dark clothing, because the Lioturgy is the same one used at all funerals. We have a symbolic opening of the tomb. It's all a Biblical/Historical timeline of events. We can eat nothing with blood, but can eat shellfish (no blood); no dairy, olive oil, olives, We eat lentils, beans, pasta. There are Saint days where you may eat meat or fish . On Easter Sunday, everyone stuffs themselves sick, and drinks a lot. There is always lamb roasted on a spit, but I eat notrf meat, poultry, and very little fish or shellfish.
