To: All Patrol Personnel
From: Sgt. B. Arriola #1055
Ref: Patrol Room
Date: 02-09-09
Today I came into our patrol room and was ashamed of the way it looked. One computer station had a Taco Bell drink sitting at it, another computer station had a mostly empty coke bottle, one desk had a Whataburger cup and another coke bottle that had been used as a spittoon.
Every other desk as well as the large one by the entrance to CID was cluttered with TLETS paperwork, call cards and reams of supplement, witness statements etc. Every chair was pulled away from a desk and sitting strewn about the room. There was not one deputy present.
Sadly, this is not an isolated incident but what has become the norm; from this point forward that will not be accepted.
Effective immediately the deputy that brings paperwork from dispatch will physically hand the paperwork to the deputy it is intended for or place the paperwork in that deputy’s mail box. Any paperwork such as close patrols will be hung on the board designated for that purpose.
Deputies receiving this paperwork will either place it in their designated reports or; if they determine that the paperwork is not needed, shred it.
If papers are pulled from their designated place on the paperwork shelves they will be put back where they belong when finished.
Deputies are responsible for cleaning up after themselves and placing their trash where it belongs. When a deputy clears an area to leave the patrol room he or she is expected to push their chair back in.
These are simple steps that each of you should have been doing all along, it is understood that when you are in the patrol room writing reports that things will be in disarray and that is acceptable, but you will clean up after yourselves from this point forward.
Thanks for accepting Michael! Stay safe in WY!
