Don't get so excited about retirement , it comes with some pluses and minuses. You don't have to go to work , you don't get shot at ( as much ) , you have more time to spend with the Children or Grand Children if you have any , and most of all you can do or not do what ever you want. Now on the minus side , you will have severe withdrawal from Adrenalin highs , your former friends that are working will promise to visit but usually they forget ( because they are focused on the latest events at work and the people that they are working with ) , you will now be one of the "Has Bins" rather then "One of the Team". "THE NEGATIVES LISTED DO NOT ALWAYS APPLY TO EVERYONE , BUT IT IS UP TO YOU HOW TO HANDLE YOUR NEW FOUND FREEDOM", but not knowing what is going on in your community after years of knowing , takes some getting us too. Best of luck and remember that the A.P.V. is always there to be a sounding board for any retired Officer.
