About Me
I have been in law enforcement for 21 years, first with the Mountain Home Police Department and now as Chief Deputy of the Baxter County Sheriff's Office (check out our website at www.baxtercountysheriff.com). My job is analagous to that of a Chief of Staff/Administrative Assistant to a Chief Executive Officer. I report to and answer only to the elected Sheriff. The Sheriff is completely independent and answers only to the voters of the county and no other governmental authority. I currently serve as an Alderman on the City Council of the City of Gassville; serve as Lodge Secretary of the Mountain Home Fraternal Order of Police Lodge No. 45, Inc.; and serve as Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Ozark Opportunities, Inc., which is a community action agency that operates the Head Start, Energy Assistance, Housing Weatherization, and other important programs in a 6 county area. I was also just appointed to serve as Secretary-Treasurer on the Board of Directors of the Baxter County Sheriff's Foundation, Inc., which is a non-profit corporation formed to support the Sheriff's Office and its deputies and employees. Although I have little free time, I still enjoy going out and working the street on patrol in the evenings whenever I have an opportunity. There's just nothing like being out there where the action is! Things I like: Family, good friends, good food, and vacation time - particularly Las Vegas :-) Things I dislike: Election time, political shenanigans, dishonest people, whiners, self-anointed "apologists" for others, and government "entitlement" programs to those who are able to work but won't. ALWAYS DO THE RIGHT THING REGARDLESS OF EXTERNAL PRESSURE OR CRITICISM!
