Hey Aaron, I checked with my local gunsmith and he gave the three options: heli-coil, weld or tap out to the next size larger. I decided to tap out to the next size larger. I think I'll be using Rem 700 action screws now on my Winny. They should be a little longer and more durable.
Hope all is well your way.

Hey! Congrats on winning the competition!!
I'm not sure what to do on the rifle. Anytime that I have needed work on mine, I send it to either Robar or GA Precision.
Keep in touch.

Aaron, just got back from our sniper comp this weekend. Didn't do too bad--team came in first and I was top shooter. We only went out to 600 and my team was the only team to connect on the 600 yard head shots. Used LC 91, 41.7 gr. Varget, FGM 210M, and 175 SMKs. It rained down on us hard for a couple of days so I had to take down my rifle to thoroughly clean them of rust. Messed up while torqueing the rifle and partially stripped the front action screw so now I've got find an action screw that is 0.029" longer (1.311" overall) so I can engage the threads and still not bind into the locking lugs. Any suggestions? It's a Winchester Model 70 Stealth in .308 that's been Marine-Tex bedded.
