    I added the pictures of the day my daughter released balloons on the anniverary of our LE friends who were gunned dow by a cop killer, who, by the way, still hasn't gone to trial for the crimes. It's been over a year now.

    Today is the 1 year anniversay of the murders of two LEO's who were very close to our family. They were both ambushed and murdered in cold blood. Tony's Mom was visiting him and was doing a ride-along. Matt had just walked out to his car with his family from his wife's family home after having dinner there with their 2 small children, The gunman, who was apprehended sometime later by Alaska State Police, ran out of a house after Tony had exited his vehicle and was talking to Matt thru the driver's window. The gunman shot Tony in the back then reached in and shot Matt in the chest in front of his wife and children. The gunman then took off to hide. Matt fell out of his personal vehicle and managed to yell to his wife to take off with the kids. He was also using Tony's radio to call for help while they both lay in the middle of the road dying. "Officer down! Officer down!" The community they served in is a small one in Alaska, only 800 people. Everybody knew these fine officers. Their force only consisted of 5 officers, which included the Chief. The small town is on an island off Juneau and by the time life-flight arrived both officers were pronouced dead. Tony was only 28, and Matt, 32. Both had moved to this little community to hunt and fish and live a quieter life than the big cities they came from; Tony from New Jersey, and Matt from Hawaii. The State Police were wonderful to this department by assigning troopers to help police until replacements could be hired. Please remember these fine LEO's today, their friends, and their families left behind. And above all to everyone else.......Stay safe out there. Nancy

    Gonna be getting a 1/2 yard of black dirt loaded in my pickup tomorrow for my Dad. Gonna help him unload it and spread it around the yard in some low places. He just had a tree taken out and the stump removed. Gotta get that dirt down and some grass seed on it before winter hits. I always like spending time with my Dad doing projects around his house, the home I grew up in. We moved in as a family back in '69, and he and my Mom (she's passed now) lived there all that time. It's always good to go back to your roots. Like the Miranda Lambert song: "The House that Built Me."
