Washington DC Police Academies
The Metropolitan Police Department operates its own police academy that all new recruits must attend before being certified as a police officer. Recruits must be hired by the MPD before they are eligible to attend the academy. The Federal Law Enforcement Training Center also operates an academy in Washington, DC, for in-service training for active federal police officers and federal agents.
