Maryland police academies exist in a combination of regional and department-operated academies certified by the Maryland Police and Correctional Training Commissions. The Federal Law Enforcement Training Center also runs a satellite academy in Cheltenham, Maryland, for federal law enforcement officers assigned to the Washington, DC, area to receive in-service training.
