Rig, You want pointers? Just google "Passing the police exam" and you will get more info than you can read in 2 careers." Im sure one of the things I read was at some point you want to go down and pick up an application at the dept.'s you want to work for and you can ask them questions there, too. For me its going to be hard., as I live in Florida and want to compare what the opportunities are back east and also in Colorado compared to here. Also, 50% of the dept.'s do have age restrictions so I cant waste my time, and also Im have to consider if I want to take a chance on getting stuck in a gang riddled inner city where I am a human target every day. California and Arizona would not then be good choices. LOL

I am 25 years of age, I have my Bachelors degree in Renewable Resources (Natural Resource Management), and I've applied for Natural Resources Police position in Maryland. I am inquiring on how long one of these agencies would take to get back to me. I am currently am finishing up on my second year of professional experience working for a few environmental companies. Through my experiences, I discovered I would definitely rather work for a Local or State Government agency than a few miscellaneous environmental firms that I noticed cared more about the next dollar instead of the environment, which they were supposedly a benefit to. Becoming a Police Officer has always been something in the back of my mind since I was young. I believe it would be the right career move at this point in my life because I feel I could tap into much of my potential, which up until this point has gone unutilized.
