Yea I feel ya there man. My dad used to work at the prison where I live and he was killed in a fight one night at work. I never thought that he would go to work one day just as happy as he could be because he loved his job and not be coming home to his family later that night. That's why I want to go into the Corrections field. 1) To follow in my father's footsteps and 2) If I'm going to die I want to die in the line of duty just like him. God Rest His Soul.....

I am a new officer in the Corrections field & I thoroughly enjoy it. We may be frowned upon by many but, it takes guts to walk back into the prisons of our country day after day knowing you have a 50/50 chance of coming out the same way you came in. Its not at all like the movies folks. Prison is a town behind a 12 foot fence topped with razor wire. It is our job to "try through time" to reform hardened criminals into productive citizens. Think about this profession seriously. Our family of uniformed officers are there to answer questions if your willing to ask.
