Anyone who reads my resume will see Iam very civic minded, often putting others before myself.
I have never felt a calling for a beat cop, however for protective services, or probation officer,or especially something in the area of Police Benovolance I have.
Iam seeking my 2nd career, one that I deserve, and more one that I require.
My big question is have I waited to long,am I to old?

I was prescribed prescription pain killers legally for almost 4 years and became physically addicted to them, not mentally; consequentially I went to a rehab program 1 year ago and see a psychiatrist monthly because I am currently in a program to prevent withdrawal and am on one other medication-I know this question is rediculous-I am probably disqualified, just want to confirm it. I have no Felonies, but gave the local police a hell of time when i was a teenager(10years ago)-DUI, however I am honest and caring person, Im a college graduate from a Division 1 Univ-Psychology/ Cultural Anthropology, though i should throw somthing positive in there:) I know I probably will not qualify, so my second choice is to be teacher to serve the community, helping people is my passion, and my positive and negative experiences only add wisdom-i feel.

Now I am very disappointed, I made a mistake in my life and took one puff of weed but never have done it before or after. So will this stop me from becoming a cop?
