I had a minor traffic offense that resulted in a suspension of my license because I couldn't pay the fine. I didn't know they could suspend it like that and I was pulled over a second time about a year later and they added a year to my suspension because of driving while under suspension. Will that hurt me?

I think we've all done things in the past were not perticularly proud of but then again we were all young and stupid and made mistakes I think as long as you learned something from it you can move on with your life

What other kinds of questions do they ask. Because I stole when I was younger like 10 or 11 and I've lied to my boss about being sick.

    BBarto,
I understand that if you have a felony record you loose your right to carry a firearm. I could be wrong but that is what I thought.

I am unsure what to think about the test because I have two friends that failed it 2 times before being hired after the third time with the same department. Both of them told me they neve changed thier answers from what they gave the first time because it was the truth. I dont like that departments use a machine that's findings arent even admisible in a court. I dont like being judged by something that isnt 100% accurate but is treated like it is, but this is the career that I want so I dont have a choice.

My question is about the polygraph--my son is wanting to become a police officer his question was--years ago working at hamburger place--If I ate a few french fries I didnt pay for--technically that is stealing--has he ever lied to his boss--a few times calling in sick when he really wasnt-I told him you have to answer honestly --his answer was how do I explain it was french fries---My son is not a momma boy --never been in trouble with the law-doesnt do drugs ect works but these blanket questions I have taken one polygram in my life and the questions were three Have you lied to your spouse--your children--your boss--I answered yes and to me how can you not look like a liar---it is difficult to explain which side this coin falls on --thanks Joanne
