Hello all, I have a school project were I must research at least 4 police departments that are currently hiring or recruiting for police officers. I have to describe the process of law enforcement recruitment, hiring, and training. Please help me locate these police departments.

Wouldn't even consider Dallas. Even if it was 80K.... But Fort Worth is an excellent dept starting at around 48K.

A small suburb of DFW (Hurst) is where I'm aiming for. Great community (I grew up there). Officers start at about 58K...... And a great department too!!!

Columbus, Ohio should NOT be #17... It should not even be on this 25 list. The mayor is threatening to lay off 297 police officers if an upcoming levy doesn't pass. Complete investigative divisions will be eliminated and the citizens will definitely feel the impact when the murder and violent crime rise dramatically!!

Good stats, but do you have any information from outside the US? If not, is there a possibility of doing a similar article on, say, Canada?
